About

Join us as we transform Jewish Studies at the University of California, Santa Cruz.

The digital age and the growth of Digital Humanities as a field of study have radically changed the way we conduct research and engage with the past, present, and future. We can now access archives around the world online, link materials from multiple repositories, and listen to the voices of eyewitnesses through a variety of media. Digital tools have also enabled new forms of connections and knowledge making, from virtual social networks and immediate communication with people around the globe to online, hyperlinked publications, visualizations, and interactive maps.

Our initiative will bring digital approaches developed for research into the classroom and enable our students to explore Jewish history and culture with a whole new set of powerful tools.

Thank you to the Koret Foundation and the Taube Philanthropies for their support of Digital Jewish Studies at UCSC.
